[Dance] Intermediate with Jim Morton No. 1
I took Jim Morton's Intermediate Night Club Two Step class. We learned two routines. The first routine goes like this:
1. SQQSQQ: perform a full basic.
2. SQQ: perform Under Arm Turn, change the hands to Right To Right.
3. SQQ: perform Open Break.
4. S: rotate to the right 90 degrees and step to the left with the left foot, raise the right hand, rotate the follower to the left, catch the follower's left hand with the left hand.
5. QQ: move the follower forward and rotate the follower to the left leading with the right hand.
6. S: step forward with the right foot, Right Over Left.
7. QQ: step forward with the left foot, rotate the follower to the right; pivot on the left foot to the left 90 degrees and step to the right with the right foot.
8. S: the weight should be on the right foot.
9. QQ: perform Open Break, lower the right hand, raise the left hand.
10. S: step forward with the left foot curving to the left, begin moving into Hammer Lock.
11. QQ: step forward with the right foot; step forward with the left foot, finish in Hammer Lock.
12. S: step forward with the right foot, release the right hand.
13. QQ: step forward with the left foot, start Outside Turn, step forward with the right foot.
14. S: step forward with the left foot.
15. QQ: step forward with the right foot; step forward with the left foot.
16. S: pivot on the left foot to the left and step to the right with the right foot, catch the follower on the leader's right side like in 5th Position Break.
17. QQ: perform Rock Back with the left foot; close the right foot to the left foot, rotate the body to the left.
18. S: step forward with the left foot slightly to the right while rotating the body to the left. hand connection should be Left To Right, to be ready to start Inside Turn on the next beat.
19. QQ: step to the right with the right foot, start Inside Turn; cross the left foot in front of the right foot, finish Inside Turn.
20 . S: step to the right with the right foot, be ready for the next move.
The second part goes like this:
1. SQQSQQ: perform a full basic.
2. SQQ: perform Under Arm Turn, maintain Left To Right.
3. SQQ: perform Open Break; step backward with the left foot slightly to the left; cross the right foot in front of the left foot.
4. S: pivot on the right foot to the right and step to the left with the left foot, raise the left hand.
5. QQ: the follower performs Progress Outside Turn.
6. S: catch the follower's left hand with the right hand.
7. QQ: Rotate the follower to the left towards the leader. The connecting hands will wrap around the follower.
8. S: catch the follower on the leader's right side.
9. QQ: dip to the left.
10. S: finish dipping.
11. QQ: send the follower out.
12. S: stop the follower's rotation.
13. QQ: pull the follower forward and lead into Free Spin.
14. S: catch the follower in front of the leader and step forward with the left foot.
15. QQ: step backward with the right foot slightly to the right; cross the left foot in front of the right foot.
20 . S: step to the right with the right foot, be ready for the next move.
