In the beginner class, we did the following routine:
1-5. Perform Basic Steps from 1 to 5.
6. The leader faces the Line Of Dance. Step forward with the left foot.
&. Pivot on the left foot to the left about 90 degrees. Keep the follower's orientation to the leader the same while pivoting. Face the center of the room.
7. Step to the right with the right foot.
8. Correct the left foot and shift the weight to the left foot.
9 (= 1). Step backward with the right foot to the right and start rotating to the left.
&. Pivot on the right foot to the left.
10 (= 2). Take a little backward step with the left foot. Pivot on the left foot to the left until the leader faces the Line Of Dance.
11-16 (= 3-8). Perform Basic Steps 3 to 8.
We also did the following routine:
1. Step backward with the right foot.
2. Step to the left with the left foot.
&. Correct the right foot and shift the weight to the right foot. Rotate the upper body to the left to lead the follower into Back Ocho (to the left).
3. Step forward with the left foot to the follower's right to step the follower backward (left foot).
&. Correct the right foot. Rotate the upper body to the right to lead the follower into Back Ocho (to the right).
4. Step forward with the right foot to the follower's left to step the follower backward (right foot).
&. Correct the left foot. Rotate the upper body to the left to lead the follower into Back Ocho (to the left).
5. Step forward with the left foot to the follower's right to step the follower backward (left foot).
&. Correct the right foot. Rotate the upper body to the right to pivot the follower to the right.
6. Step to the right with the right foot to step the follower backward (right foot). Correct the left foot.
7. Step to the left with the left foot to step the follower forward (left foot).
8. Pivot the follower on their left foot to the left (Planeo). Correct the right foot.
9. Step forward with the left foot (Basic Step 6).
10. Step to the right with the right foot (Basic Step 7).
11. Correct the left foot (Basic Step 8).

In the advanced class, we did the following routine:
1. Step backward with the right foot.
2. Step to the left with the left foot.
3. Step forward with the right foot to step the follower backward (left foot).
&. Correct the left foot and shift the weight to the left foot to lead the follower to shift their weight (to their right foot).
4. Step backward with the right foot to step the follower forward (left foot).
5. Step to the left with the left foot to step the follower to the right (right foot).
6-7. Perform steps 3 to 4.
8. Step to the left with the left foot to step the follower to the right (right foot). Move the right foot to touch the inside of the follower's right foot.
9. Rotate the upper body to the left to lead the follower into Boleo (the follower pivots on their right foot to the left).
&. Unwind the rotation a little, then rotate the upper body to the left again to lead the follower into the 2nd Boleo.
10. Unwind the rotation to pivot the follower to the right. Continue to pivot the follower to lead into Amague.
11. Pivot the follower on their right foot to the left.
12. Step the follower backward (left foot). Step forward with the left foot and perform Sacada with the follower's right foot.
&. Pivot on the left foot to the left.
12. Step backward with the right foot to step the follower forward (right foot).

I went to Allegro Ballroom in Emeryville to attend La Milonga De Nora. This is held every 2nd Saturday of the month. I think I'll go again. See the Allegro Ballroom web site for details.
In the class, we did the following routine:
1. Step backward with the right foot.
2. Step to the left with the left foot.
&. Correct the right foot and shift the weight to the right foot.
3. Step forward with the left foot to the follower's left.
&. Pivot on the left foot to the left. The dancers stand perpendicular to each other.
4. Step to the right with the right foot.
5. Hook the left foot behind the right foot. Don't let the follower cross their feet.
6. Start pivoting on both feet to the left to step the follower forward (left foot).
7. Keep pivoting to pivot the follower on their left foot to the left then step the follower to the right (right foot). Finish pivoting and shift the weight to the right foot.
8. Step forward with the left foot to step the follower backward (left foot). (Should I step forward slightly to the left?)
9. Step forward with the right foot to step the follower backward (right foot).
&. Wait for the follower to cross their feet.
10. Step forward with the left foot.
11. Step to the right with the right foot.
12. Correct the left foot.
Then, we modified the routine as below:
1-5. Same as above.
6. Start pivoting on both feet to the left to step the follower forward (left foot).
7. Keep pivoting to pivot the follower on their left foot to the left then step the follower to the right (right foot). Finish pivoting and shift the weight to the right foot.
8. Step forward with the left foot to step the follower backward (left foot). (Should I step forward slightly to the left?) Catch the follower's right foot with inside of the leader's right foot before the follower moves their right foot backward. Don't rotate the upper body to the right while catching the follower's foot.
9. Sweep the follower's right foot with the leader's right foot (Barrida).
10. Step the follower forward to step over the leader's right foot.
11. Perform Basic Steps 6 to 8.

4. Step forward with the right foot to the follower's left to step the follower backward (right foot).
&. Correct the left foot. Rotate the upper body to the left to lead the follower into Back Ocho (to the left).
5. Step forward with the left foot to the follower's right to step the follower backward (left foot).
&. Correct the right foot. Rotate the upper body to the right to pivot the follower to the right.
6. Step the follower backward (right foot). Step forward with the right foot to perform Sacada with the follower's left foot.
7. Step the follower forward (left foot).
&. Pivot on the right foot to the left to pivot the follower on their left foot to the left. Correct the right foot.
8. Step forward with the left foot (Basic Step 6).
9. Step to the right with the right foot (Basic Step 7).
10. Correct the left foot (Basic Step 8).

In the advanced class, we did the following routine:
1. Step backward with the right foot.

3. Keep rotating the upper body to the left to step the follower backward (left foot).
&. Keep rotating the upper body to the left to step the follower to the right (right foot).
4. Keep rotating the upper body to the left to step the follower forward (left foot). At this point, the follower steps behind the leader.
&. Pivot on both feet to the left to pivot the follower on their left foot to the left. At the end of this step, the leader's right foot hooks behind the left foot. (I think the weight is on the left foot.)
5. Step to the right with the right foot to step the follower forward (right foot).
a (1/4)?. Correct the left foot and shift the weight to the left foot. Pivot the follower on their right foot to the right.
6. Step backward with the right foot diagonally to the left to step the follower forward (left foot).
a (1/4)?. Move the left foot backward and cross the left foot in front of the right foot. Pivot the follower on their left foot to the left.
7. Step backward with the right foot to step the follower forward (right foot).
&. Correct the left foot. Pivot the follower on their right foot to the right. The dancers stand perpendicular to each other.
8. Move the follower forward (left foot). Pivot the follower on their left foot to the left.
9. Step forward with the left foot (Basic Step 6).
10. Step to the right with the right foot (Basic Step 7).
11. Correct the left foot (Basic Step 8).

In the advanced class, we did the following routine:
1. Step backward with the right foot.
2. Step to the left with the left foot.
3. Step forward with the right foot.
4. Step forward with the left foot.
&. Shift the weight to the right foot.
5. Step backward with the left foot to move the follower forward (right foot). Lead the follower into Ocho (to the right) and get into Americana. Correct the right foot.
6. Step forward with the right foot to move the follower forward (left foot). Keep some distance from the follower to perform Barrida more easily. (Should the leader take a bigger step than the follower?) Pivot on the right foot to the right a little and pivot the follower on their left foot to the left.
7. Keep pivoting to the right. Step the follower to the right (right foot). Stop the follower's right foot with (the leader's) left foot. Move the follower's weight to their left foot. Sweep the follower's right foot with (the leader's) left foot to the right (Barrida)
8. Finish Barrida. Shift the weight to the left foot to shift the follower's weight to their right foot. Pivot the follower on their right foot to the right.
9. Step the follower to the left (left foot). Step forward with the right foot aiming for somewhere close to the follower's left foot and perform Gancho with the follower's right foot. Shift the weight to the right foot and rotate the body to the right to pivot the follower on their left foot to the right. Correct the left foot and shift the weight to the left foot.
10. Keep pivoting the follower, then step the follower backward (right foot). Step forward with the right foot to perform Gancho with the follower's left foot. Shift the weight to the right foot. Correct the left foot. The dancers stand perpendicular to each other.
11. Step to the left with the left foot to step the follower forward (left foot).

8. Pivot the follower on their right foot to the left and step the follower backward (left foot). Finish pivoting (leader) and cross the right foot in front of the left foot. This is sequence 3 of the leader's embellishment moves.
&. Step the follower to the right (right foot).
9. Step the follower forward (left foot). Hook the right foot behind the left foot. This is sequence 4 of the leader's embellishment moves.
&. Correct the right foot to the left foot and shift the weight to the right foot.
10. Step to the left with the left foot.

In the advanced class, we did the following routine:
1. Step backward with the right foot.
2. Step to the left with the left foot.
3. Step forward with the right foot.
4. Step forward with the left foot.
&. Shift the weight to the right foot.
5. Step backward with the left foot to step the follower forward (right foot). Rotate the upper body to the right to pivot the follower to the right on their right foot.
& Correct the right foot to the left foot. Rotate the body to the left. Shift the weight to the right foot. The dancers stand almost side by side.
6. Step forward with the left foot to step the follower forward (left foot).
& Pivot the follower to the left on their left foot.
7. Step the follower to the right (right foot). Step forward with the right foot to perform Sacada with the follower's left foot.
8. Step the follower backward (left foot).
&. Step the follower to the right (right foot).
9. Step the follower forward (left foot). Step forward with the left foot to perform Sacada with the follower's right foot.

1. Step backward with the right foot.
2. Step to the left with the left foot.
&. Correct the right foot and shift the weight to the right foot.
3. Step forward with the left foot to the right side of the follower.
4. Start moving the right foot forward. The follower performs Basic Step 4 as usual.
5. Keep moving the right foot forward. The follower performs Basic Step 5 as usual.
6. Step forward with the left foot. (Basic Step 6)
7. Step to the right with the right foot. (Basic Step 7)
&. Correct the left foot. (Basic Step 8)
Then we did a different routine:
1. Step backward with the right foot.
2. Step to the left with the left foot.
3. Step forward with the right foot.
4. Step forward with the left foot.
&. Shift the weight to the right foot.
5. Step backward with the left foot. Correct the right foot. Lead the follower into Ocho (to the right).
6. Step forward with the right foot. Correct the left foot. Lead the follower into Ocho (to the left).
7. Repeat step 5.
8. Step forward with the right foot. Correct the left foot. Rotate the follower a little to the left.
9. Step forward with the left foot.

5. Keep moving the right foot forward. The follower performs Basic Step 5 as usual.

5. Perform Basic Steps 3 to 8.
In the advanced class, we did the following routine:
1. Step backward with the right foot.
2. Tap the left foot to the left to step the follower to the right (right foot).
&. Rotate the upper body to the left to lead the follower into Ocho (to the left).
3. Step forward with the left foot to the left side of the follower to step the follower backward (left food). Maintain some distance between the dancers to make performing Sacada easier later. Pivot on the left foot to the left to shift the follower's weight to their right foot (take a small forward step?).
&. Correct the right foot and shift the weight to the right foot. Step the follower forward (left foot).
4. Step forward with the left foot to perform Sacada with the follower's right foot. (The follower's left leg is the supporting leg; the follower's right foot is behind the follower's left foot) Pivot on the left foot to the left.
5. Step forward (side?) with the right foot. (The right foot should be placed close to the follower's right foot because the next move is Gancho and the follower's right leg is the supporting leg.) Shift the weight to the right foot to perform Gancho with the follower's left foot.

In the beginner class, we did the following routine:
1. Step backward with the right foot.
2. Step to the left with the left foot.
3. Step forward with the right foot.
&. Shift the weight to the left foot.
4. Step to the right with the right foot. (Back to the step 2 position)
5. Correct the left foot and shift the weight to the left foot.
6. Step forward with the right foot. (Same as Basic step 3)
7. Step forward with the left foot.
&. Correct the right foot and shift the weight to the right foot.
8. Step forward with the left foot.
9. Repeat from step 1.

In the advanced class, we did the following routine:
1. Step backward with the right foot.

4. Rotate the hips to the left and step forward with the right foot and perform Sacada with the follower's left foot. (The teacher seemed to tap the floor with his right foot before performing Sacada. Does that make it easier to time Sacada?)

&. Take a small forward step with the right foot. Stand to the left side of the follower.
5. Step forward with the left foot. Stand to the left side of the follower.
6. Step forward with the right foot.
&. Correct the left foot and shift the weight to the left foot.

8. Step backward with the right foot.
&. Correct the left foot and shift the weight to the left foot.
9. Step forward with the right foot. (Basic step 3)

In the beginner class, we learned Media Vuelta. The routine goes like this:
1. Step backward with the right foot.
2. Step to the left with the left foot.
3. Step forward with the right foot.
4. Start rotating the body to the left to step the follower to the right (right foot).
5. Continue rotating the body to the left to step the follower forward (left foot). Then correct the left foot and rotate the follower to the left.
6. Step forward with the left foot to step the follower backward (right foot) (Basic Step 6).
7. Step to the right with the right foot (Basic Step 7).
8. Correct the left foot (Basic Step 8).
Then we modified the timing of the above routine to move with QQS timing during in steps 4 to 6.
In the advanced class, we did the following routine:
1. Step backward with the right foot.
2. Step to the left with the left foot. Hook the right foot behind the left foot and shift the weight to the right foot.
3. Step forward with the left foot.
4. Step forward with the right foot. Take a very small step with the left foot. Take a very small step with the right foot. These two small steps are very fast.
5. Step forward with the left foot.
6. Step to the right with the right foot.
7. Correct the left foot.
(Does the follower accelerate between counts 4 and 5?)
We also did a different routine:
1. Step backward with the right foot.
2. Step to the left with the left foot. Correct the right foot and shift the weight to the right foot.
3. Step to the left with the left foot to lead the follower into Back Ocho.
4. Step to the right with the right foot to lead the follower into Back Ocho.
5. Rotate the follower to the left a little to face the follower to the leader. Step forward with the left foot.
6. Step forward with the right foot.
7. Step forward with the left foot.
8. Step to the right with the right foot.
9. Correct the left foot.
Then we modified the routine. The new routine goes like this:
1. Step backward with the right foot.
2. Step to the left with the left foot. Correct the right foot and shift the weight to the right foot.
3. Step to the left with the left foot to lead the follower into Back Ocho.
4. Step to the right with the right foot to step the follower backward (right foot). Correct the left foot and shift the weight to the left foot. Put some pressure on the right arm to prevent the follower from moving backward more. Place the right foot behind the follower's right heel.
5. Rotate the upper body to the left to lead the follower into Gancho. The right thigh needs to touch the follower's left thigh. Correct the right foot.
6. Rotate the follower to the left a little to face the follower to the leader. Step forward with the left foot.
7. Step forward with the right foot.
8. Step forward with the left foot.
9. Step to the right with the right foot.
10 Correct the left foot.
