About the previous class: [Dance] West Coast Swing class No. 1
I took a beginning West Coast Swing class at Starlite. First, we learned Left Side Pass. For the leader, it goes like this:
0. Adjust the hip diagonally left to the slot.
1. (1) Move the left foot back and place it behind of the right foot perpendicular to the slot.
2. (2) Close the right foot to the left foot.
3. (3) Replace to the left foot.
4. (&) Replace to the right foot.
5. (4) Step forward with the left foot slightly to the left.
6. (5) Close the right foot to the left foot. Rotate the body parallel to the slot.
7. (&) Replace to the left foot.
8. (6) Replace to the right foot.
For the follower, it goes like this:
1. (1) Step forward with the left foot.
2. (2) Step forward with the right foot.
3. (3) Step forward with the left foot slightly to the left, so that next step can be on a straight line. Start rotating to the left.
4. (&) Cross the left foot in front of the right foot.
5. (4) Step to the right with the right foot. At the end of this step, the follower is rotated 90 degree from the position in step 3.
6. (5) Close the left foot to the right foot. An additional 90 degree rotation is completed.
7. (&) Replace to the right foot.
8. (6) Replace to the left foot.
Second, we did Right Side Pass also called Under Arm Pass. Steps for the follower are the same as Left Side Pass. Steps for the leader go like this:

1. (1) Step backward with the left foot.
2. (2) Cross the right foot in front of the left foot.
3. (3) Step forward with the left foot slightly to the right.
4. (&) Step forward with the right foot.
5. (4) Step forward with the left foot.
6. (5) Close the right foot to the left foot.
7. (&) Replace to the left foot.
8. (6) Replace to the right foot.
Third, we did Sugar Push. The leader steps go like this:
1. (1) Step backward with the left foot.
2. (2) Step backward with the right foot.
3. (3) Close the left foot to the right foot.
4. (&) Replace to the right foot.
5. (4) Step forward with the left foot.
6. (5) Close the right foot to the left foot.
7. (&) Replace to the left foot.
8. (6) Replace to the right foot.
The follower's steps go like this:
1. (1) Step forward with the right foot.
2. (2) Step forward with the left foot.
3. (3) Step forward with the right foot.
4. (&) Close the left foot to the right foot.
5. (4) Step backward with the right foot.
6. (5) Close the left foot to the right foot.
7. (&) Replace to the right foot.
8. (6) Replace to the left foot.
The leader's step 3 and the follower's step 3 are different. This difference creates compression between the dancers.
Finally, we did steps for idling. They go like this:
1. (1) Kick forward with the left foot.
2. (&) Close the left foot to the right foot and shift the weight to the left foot.
3. (2) Replace to the right foot.
